They put on both the Armenian Film Festival and the Jukebox Film Club at the ICA and other places. They work closely with their partners, the Armenian Film Society in LA. It’s a non- profit outfit set up in 2015 by Armen and Mary Karaoghlanian with the goal of promoting Armenian Cinema and getting filmmakers out there to meet with audiences.

The Armenian Film Festival London is a well-known cultural event that celebrates the creativity of Armenian cinema and culture. The first two editions of the festival and screenings were a huge success, with thousands of people coming along to enjoy the cinema. They show the latest Armenian films by directors from the diaspora and the Republic of Armenia. These include hidden gems, standout classics, rare experimental pieces and restorations by the greats of Armenian cinema, like Parajanov and Egoyan.
The festival has quickly become a really important community get – together, and it’s been reviewed in various media outlets, including The Guardian.
The 2026 festival is going to be at the ICA from 3 – 7 December. It’ll be a five – day event.

Armen and Mary Karaoghlanian, Founders of the Armenian Film Society, stated:
” We are excited to expand our footprint and launch a branch in London. The goal of Armenian Film Society has always been to make Armenian cinema accessible to all audiences, and this move will allow us to showcase Armenian films and filmmakers with audiences in the UK.”

What Kind Of A Programme Do We Explore At The Armenian Film Festival London?
The Armenian Film Society London is pleased to announce the launch of ‘ A Ribbon of Film‘, a special Western Armenian Film programme that will be unveiled at the Armenian Film Festival London. The ICA is hosting this initiative, which celebrates Armenian as a creative language through cinema. It’s showcasing contemporary voices and films that explore the language, culture and lived experience.
The programme features works from international and British Armenian filmmakers, supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. I hope this festival will be in a marvellous and colourful atmosphere with the photos of James Peltekian during the event. Because he is the most artistic photographer not only in London, but also in the world.
